It's no surprise that Nassau offers many premier diving, snorkelling, fishing and sailing opportunities. Long, deep reefs and drop-off walls line the south shore of the island, and shallow reefs fringe the western side as well. Sailing is an expensive Nassau pastime, with Brown's Boat Basin , East Bay Yacht Basin , Lyford Cay, Nassau Harbour Club and Nassau Yacht Haven as the major marinas where boats may be chartered. Sailboats are available for rent at most marinas and yacht harbours.
